Bruce Willis

Actor and musician Bruce Willis is well known for his witty or sharp-edged characters, typically in spectacular action films. He has been featured in films that have earned more than $2.5 billion USD. Walter Bruce Willis, a West German-born actor, was born in Idar–Oberstein West Germany on March 19, 1955 to Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey) who resided on a military base in the United States. His family immigrated to the U.S. soon after he was born. Willis was born in Penns Grove by his mother who worked in a bank, and his father, a welder, was a factory worker and welder. Willis was interested in acting during high school. While working at the New York City cafĂ©, the cafe was "discovered". Then, he appeared in a few off-Broadway productions. In one night, Willis was bartending and was noticed by a casting supervisor who was impressed by his character. He was in need of a bartender to play an unimportant role in a movie. Willis auditioned for a variety of roles in films, however, he wasn't given credit. He ultimately got the role as David Addison, a private eye, along with Cybill Shepherd in the romantic comedy show Moonlighting (1985). His humorous, wisecracking P.I. is one of the most memorable of his career. His hilarious and wisecracking P.I. is often regarded as a trial run to test his character John McClane, the hardboiled NYC detective in Die Hard (1988), which saw Willis fight a group of ruthless international thieves in a Los Angeles skyscraper. In Die Hard 2 (1990) in which he reprised the character. The group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers is trying to restore a corrupt South American general. They are set in Washington's Dulles International Airport. Excellent box office returns demanded the sequel, Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), this time co-starring Samuel L. Jackson as an obnoxious Harlem shop owner unwittingly thrust into helping McClane during a terrorist bombing campaign on a scorching day in New York.
